We’re working towards integrating partner weather data into the 1.5 app to closely match our owned weather data. Recently, we received an updated v3 Mountain Powder feed that aligns all metrics between our owned and partner feeds. However, we’ve encountered an issue with certain destinations that have multiple weather feeds, which are treated as sub destinations in the feed despite being considered a single destination in Sanity. For example, Dolomiti has 12 ski resorts, each with its own mountain weather endpoint, but Sanity recognizes it as one destination. (Makes sense, since these mountains can be far apart and weather can vary.) Similarly, Palisades is also considered a single destination but has two distinct mountain feeds.
We are looking into exploring design solutions that accommodate these varied weather feeds without directing users to a sub destination screen, as our Sanity data doesn’t support separate sub destination pages. Our goal is to display as many standard metrics as possible without cluttering the screen or introducing new screens. (Some sort of combination of 2.7 and 2.7.1 in the Figma designs.) Another option would be to show combined ranges for these larger mountain areas, which could be large.
Happy to hop on a call to walk through this in more detail and brainstorm together as well.
